PC gamers now have a new option for streaming games with Utomik.
Officially launching out of beta in early 2018, Utomik is a streaming computer game service that boasts a catalog of more than 670 games across 70 publishers. The company says this is "more than any other subscription gaming service including Xbox Game Pass (Microsoft) and PlayStation Now (Sony) for a lower price." Their single-user price will be $7.99 per month or $12.99 for a four-user plan.
Getting around bandwidth limits, the service doesn't technically stream games as they are being played. Rather, subscribers more-or-less run games from their own PC with the game continually loading in the background as the user plays it. Furthermore, a game's download size is dynamically determined based on the specific connection speed of the user and what game they are playing at the time.
Utomik is currently offering a free two-week trial. Those interested can sign up for it on the Utomik website.
