Astro releases new A50 wireless gaming headset

Astro Gaming comes out with a new wireless gaming headset that features a new base station transmitter/charger.

The Astro A50 Wireless + Base Station is being promised by Astro as having "top-of-the-line acoustics, ergonomics, and durability that hardcore gamers demand."

The original Astro A50 Wireless Gaming Headset came out in 2012 and is the company's flagship audio product.  The updated Astro A50 Wireless + Base Station comes with a number of feature improvements, comfort and quality adjustments, audio refinements and technological advancements.  The new Base Station features a 5GHz wireless transmitter that is designed to provide clear, low-latency voice communication, while making headset pairing and charging simple.  Astro says the headset, which features Dolby Headphone 7.1 surround sound with built-in MixAmp technology, provides for as much as 15 hours of batter life.  Fuyrthermore, there is an optioanl A50 Mod Kit that allows users to swap out the headband and ear cushions for improved noise cancellation and comfort.

“We've optimized the new A50 to make it the best fully wireless companion for your next-gen console and PC” said Aron Drayer, VP of Marketing for Astro Gaming.  “The A50 represents Astro's commitment to delivering superior audio products and highlights our focus on providing gamers with the most immersive and customizable gaming experiences available.”

PC users will find they have at their disposal Astro Command Center software.  With the program, PC users can adjust noise gate, side tone, and mic levels.  They cal also alter game volume, chat audio, mic and AUX channels individually to make for custom audio mixes for streaming output.  Astro says that future A50 Headset and Base Station firmware updates will also be accessible via the Command Center software.

The new Astro A50 Wireless + Base Station retails for $300 and can be obtained directly from Astro Gaming as well as from a number of "select retailers."
