PS4 owners now have a new option when it comes to boosting game storage and taking their games on the go thanks to the new Seagate Game Drive.
Officially licensed by Sony, the Game Drive features two terrabytes of storage (Seagate says that's enough space to "...access to approximately 502 downloaded games, add-ons and achievements for continued gameplay.") and connects directly to the PS4 via USB cable without the need for a separate power source. it also features offers PlayStation graphical branding elements to match the PS4 console.
“Games can average 40GB per title, so even the highest-capacity internal console hard drives available can be maximized quickly,” said Jeff Fochtman, vice president of marketing for Seagate. “Seagate’s new Game Drive for PS4 offers a storage upgrade so users can keep saved content while expanding their ability to download new games and add-ons.”
The Game Drive is designed so that a user's PS4 console will instantly recognizes it. All-in-all, Seagate says it takes less than three minutes to set things up. Furthermore, it's compatible with all PS4 consoles running system software version 4.50 or higher.
The new 2TB Game Drive for PS4 is currently available in North America both at brick-and-mortar retailers and online for $89.99 USD and $119.99 CAD.
