Capcom to release six classic Disney games in one bundle CAPCOM / THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY

Gamers will soon be able to take a trip down memory lane and enjoy six classic Disney video games as Capcom announces The Disney Afternoon Collection for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The Disney Afternoon Collection is a compilation of a half-dozen games that feature the well-known Disney TV characters from the 1980s and 90s.  Updated to 1080p HD, the games keep true to their original versions while also including brand-new modes that can be enjoyed by both first-time players and long-time fans.

Included in The Disney Afternoon Collection are:

  • Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers – Originally released in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, the game lets players team up with a friend in co-op play as they assume the roles of the mischievous Chip and Dale as they take on memorable villain Fat Cat and attempt to solve the mystery of a missing kitten.
  • Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 – In this 1994 sequel for the NES, Fat Cat has escaped and his plans are even more dastardly this time.  The titular heroes and supporting cast Monterey Jack, Gadget, and Zipper must stop Fat Cat from his evil dream of world domination.
  • Darkwing Duck – Released in 1993 for the NES, gamers get to play as the original caped crusader and fight a city full of criminals from the infamous F.O.W.L. organization in this action-packed platforming epic.
  • DuckTales – Considered one of the best video games of its era, it's a platforming adventure in which players help Scrooge McDuck fill his feathery pockets with vast riches from across the world.  It originally came out for the NES in 1989.
  • DuckTales 2 – The sequel to the original game came out for the NES in 1993 and features an even bigger caper set in new locations like the Bermuda Triangle and Niagara Falls.
  • TaleSpin – Originally releasing on TurboGrafx-16 and NES in 1991, players take to the skies as Baloo the bear and navigate his plane through exotic and dangerous locations in this side-scrolling shoot-em-up.

The new play modes being added to each title include "Boss Rush" and "Time Attack".  In the former, players battle through consecutive boss encounters, while the latter encourages time-based gameplay and provides online leaderboards that track the fastest times for each game.  Furthermore, The Disney Afternoon Collection will be addidng a new “Rewind” feature that's designed to make these challenging titles more accessible for newcomers.  It allows players to rewind time so that they may recover from in-game blunders.  Additionally, the in-game "Disney Museum" will provide history buffs with a wealth of content to celebrate the era of the original releases, such as concept art, advertisements, character art, and music.
