Indie studio snowhydra games has announced that Zarvot, an arcade shooter starring cubes, will be launching exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on October 18. Zarvot will have players shooting, spinning, dodging and double jumping as they face off against enemies in single-player or multiplayer modes. The game features an extensive story mode, where players play as the hero Charcoal in order to cheer up a friend on their birthday, as well as five multiplayer modes, including a deathmatch mode and a Switch-exclusive Joy-Vot mode, where players spawn in enemies to fight their friends.
“With Zarvot, I wanted to make a game that captures both the joy and malice of competing with your friends; something that’s simultaneously light and breezy, but also chaotic and cathartic,” said Snowhydra Games founder Sam Eng. “Zarvot celebrates both ends of the spectrum, merging its pleasantly tactile aesthetic and sweet characters with savage arcade action. I can’t wait for players to check it out!”
Zarvot will be available on the Nintendo eShop on October 18, at a price of $19.99.
