Electronic Arts is adding an optional membership program to the upcoming DICE-developed FPS game Battlefield 1 that gamers can purchase.
Called the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, it's a membership program that delivers new content and early access to Battlefield 1 players over the course of four upcoming themed digital expansion packs. Those who decide to buy the yet-to-be-priced pass will get a two-week early access period to each pack, beginning with Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass expansion in March of next year that will bring the French army into the battle in multiplayer.
Over the course of the four expansions that come included in the pass are 16 new multiplayer maps, new Operations and game modes for more ways to play, new Elite classes, 20 new in-game weapons, and new vehicles. Furthermore 14 Battlefield 1 Battlepacks containing stand-out weapon skins will be delivered monthly from November 2016 and 14 unique in-game dog tags will be distributed over the course of the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass period.
Battlefield 1 launches on October 21 worldwide on Xbox One, PC (via Origin), and PlayStation 4.
