According to word out of developer Snail Games, the VR multiplayer adventure, ARK Park, will be coming out Mar. 22 for PSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift.
Based on Studio Wildcard's survival RPG game, ARK: Survival Evolved, ARK Park allows players to interact with the source material's majestic creatures “face-to-face” through a series of exquisite VR-powered theme-park attractions. Designed from the ground up as a stunningly realistic dinosaur theme park simulation, the game allows players to freely traverse the grounds. There’s no set plot or schedule to follow. Players can choose how and where to go at all times, allowing the prehistoric park at one's own pace.
In addition to touring the part, there is also puzzle-solving, dinosaur breeding, and collectibles to be found. For those wanting a tad more action, ARK Park has a Story Mode in which players must defend the base (and other humans) from rampaging dinosaurs, as well as multiplayer hunting maps.
“ARK Park takes the world of ARK: Survival Evolved into a wonderful and haunting new direction," says Snail Games Vice President Tianqi Wu. "It embraces virtual reality while offering players the tight gameplay mechanics from its predecessor. We’re thrilled to deliver Snail Games’ first VR title to our fans in March – and we couldn’t be more pleased with the team’s hard work throughout the development of ARK Park.”
ARK Park will be available on Steam VR/HTC Vive, PSVR, and Oculus Rift Mar. 22. Voiceovers and subtitles will be in English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified).
