Independent developer Fatshark Tuesday released Warhammer: Vermentide 2 on PlayStation 4.
Based on the Games Workshop tabletop miniatures game, Vermintide 2 is a first-person co-op melee action game. It's set during the apocalyptic End Times of the Warhammer world and introduces the dark, bloody, and twisted forces of Chaos as an enemy faction. Other new features include 15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees, and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System.
“We are very excited to bring Vermintide 2 to the PlayStation community,” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. “PlayStation 4 players will face off against brutal Chaos warriors and the relentless Skaven hordes in ferocious cooperative multiplayer action.”
Fatshark has made available three different versions -- a Standard Edition, Premium Edition, and the Ultimate Edition -- of the game. The latter of the three includes a Sigmar Keep Statue, Helmgart Heraldry Themed Skins, Portrait Frame, three Exclusive Heroic Deeds, the Shadows over Bögenhafen DLC, and the Back to Übersreik DLC.
Warhammer: Vermentide 2 originally released onto Steam as a computer game in March of this year and was also previously released on Xbox One.
The game is rated "M for Mature" by the ESRB.
