With the upcoming video game Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series set to release April via digital download (May 2 at retail), Telltale Games is giving players a look at the episodic title with the release of its debut trailer.

The game tells an original story based off of and featuring the protagonists of the Guardians of the Galaxy motion pictures and comic books: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.  In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power.  Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

The first of five episodes on April 18th for five bucks.  The series will also be available as a special 'Season Pass Disc' on May 2nd at retailers across North America for $30, and on May 5th at retailers outside of the US.  The special 'Season Pass Disc' will include Episode One: Tangled Up in Blue, and will grant access to download the subsequent four episodes via online updates as they are released in the coming months of 2017.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series will be playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS/Android devices.  Telltale is leaving the option for versions for Nintendo Switch and other platforms open, stating that "Additional platforms for release are yet to be announced."

The ESRB has given Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series a "T for Teen" rating.
