Celebrate 20 years of 'Tekken' in this special 8-bit tribute BANDAI NAMCO

It may be hard to believe, but the Tekken fighting game franchise has been out for some two decades now.

In celebration and tribute to 20 years of Tekken, Namco Bandai has released a pair of special 8-bit videos recapping the franchise's history.  This first tribute video from the game developer and publisher begins with the original Tekken through Tekken 3.  The second goes from Tekken 4 through 6, bringing viewers up to date with everything leading up to the recently-released Tekken 7.

Viewers will re-live Heihachi’s cold-blooded parenting philosophy as he drops his five-year-old son, Kazuya, off a cliff only to have Kazuya survive; awakening an undying need for revenge against his father and his thirst for power to take-over the Mishima Zaibatsu.  You'll also learn the origins of Devil Jin (Heihachi’s grandson) and how his storyline plays into Tekken lore.

Check them out:

Oh, by the way, the latest Tekken game (Tekken 7) was recently launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PCs (via Steam).
