Bethesda Softworks, the publishers of such games as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, have announced that DOOM, the critically-acclaimed new entry in the legendary game series, is now available on the Nintendo Switch. This version of the game comes with the single-player campaign, multiplayer mode and all multiplayer DLC, and Arcade Mode; the Snapmap level editor, however, will not be available.
"We’re excited to welcome Nintendo fans back to the world of DOOM," said Marty Stratton, executive producer at id Software, which co-developed the Switch version with the help of developers Panic Button. "This game is all about powerful guns, crazy demons, and fast, relentless gameplay, which we think Switch players will really enjoy."
The release of DOOM marks the first time since 2002 that a game in the series has been released on a Nintendo platform. The game is available now at retail or on the eShop for $59.99. A new launch trailer was also released, which can be seen here, though it requires that users sign in to confirm their age.
