We now know when Impact Gameworks' fantasy dungeon-crawler, Tangledeep, will release onto Steam. (Hint: It's soon.)
Coming out for PC on Feb. 1, Tangledeep is described by its developer as a tribute to the golden age of RPGs," The game was inspired both visually and audibly by classic games such as Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. It features strategic, turn-based gameplay that combines the accessibility and polish of those games while also drawing inspiration from rogue-likes like NetHac, Shiren the Wanderer and Diablo.
Tangledeep boasts a robust character job system and huge assortment of equipment that players can use to create a unique experience with each playthrough. To further the in-game variety, the game's dungeons are procedurally-generated and gives players the choice between three play modes That includes Adventure Mode, which removes permadeath for the more casual crowd. Furthermore, the game's soundtrack was composed by award-winning composer Andrew Aversa (a.k.a. Zircon), who was joined by industry legends Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana), Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie), and Norihiko Hibino (Bayonetta).
In addition to the standard release, a deluxe edition of Tangledeep (which includes the game's soundtrack) will also be made available on Steam at launch.
Tangledeep will also be available to download from the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch before mid-year.
