Philips releases a 40-inch curved 4K monitor

Philips is letting computer users see their desktop in a big new way.

Now available from the company is the Philips Brilliance BDM4037UW, a 40-inch 4K curved computer monitor.  The company says it's the largest 4K curved computer monitor currently on the market and it includes Ultra Wide-Color Technology, which is designed to deliver a wider spectrum of colors for a "true-to-life" picture.

The monitor supports resolutions as high as 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz and a response time of 4ms.  Connection-wise, it boasts a variety of ports: VGA, DP x 2, HDMI 1.4 (MHL), HDMI 2.0 (MHL), and USB 3.0 x 4 (1 fast charging) with MultiView capabilities.  This means that users can to have as many as four inputs shown on one screen – each in high definition.  The pictures can be arranged in two different ways: The Picture-by-Picture mode (which is useful in control rooms or for using multiple devices like notebooks side-by-side or the more traditional Picture-in-Picture mode.  Finally, the monitor is equipped with Philips Flicker-free Technology designed to prevent eye fatigue.
