Capcom unveils plans Wednesday to release Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition onto Android later this month.
The initial version of the game will include one playable character (Ryu) and three AI controlled characters (Chun-Li, Guile, and Zangief). Overall, the game features 32 Street Fighter characters including Dan, who is exclusive to Android.
The game utilizes virtual pad controls that allow players to execute full move sets from basic to ultra combos. Players also have the option of using a Bluetooth controller instead, although Bluetooth controllers do not work within the game's menus. With four levels of difficulty available, players can battle head-to-head against others from around the world via Wifi. A single player “arcade” and other multiplayer modes are also available.
Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition for Android will be available as a free download. Capcom says players may unlock the full game for a one time in-app purchase of $4.99.
