Sony Wednesday unveiled PlayStation Classic, a mini video game console pre-loaded with 20 classic original PlayStation games including Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.
Emulating the look and feel of the original PlayStation console from 1994, the PlayStation Classic is 45% smaller but doesn't include the optical drive that the original console relied upon. Rather, the console has games pre-installed similar to Nintendo's NES and SNES Classic console from the past couple of years.
"Long-time fans will appreciate the nostalgia that comes with rediscovering the games they know and love, while gamers who might be new to the platform can enjoy the groundbreaking PlayStation console experience that started it all," says Sony in their original announcement.
In addition to the pre-installed games, Sony says each unit will also come with an HDMI cable, a USB cable, and two controllers for local multiplayer within compatible titles.
PlayStation Classic will be available for $99.99 USD on Dec. 3, 2018.
