Coming out this August from White Wolf Games is the 5th Edition of the long-running tabletop RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade.
A return to the vision of the original 1991 Vampire tabletop role-playing game, V5 features a new set of modern rules and continues the dark and sexy storytelling. Rooted in the exploration of evil and morality, the Vampire series challenges players to confront or channel their inner monster and exploit the weaknesses of society to satiate their own hunger for power and a thirst for blood. White Wolf Games says the terror of the Second Inquisition, the conspiracies behind the Gehenna War and the rekindling of the War of Ages are the building blocks of the modern V5 chronicle. Taking place in the present day, the company says V5 is "a bold reinvention built for existing fans and newcomers alike."
Powered by the innovative Hunger cycle, V5 includes rules for creating system-supported character coteries, Loresheets to directly involve players with their favorite parts of the setting, and Memoriam, a new way to bring characters’ detailed backgrounds into play and expand on them in-session. Furthermore, V5 will feature three main full-color hardback books with gorgeous art — the V5 corebook and Anarch and Camarilla sourcebooks — as well as an official V5 dice set, V5 storyteller screen and V5 notebook. All three books will also be available in a high quality slipcase along with a special edition of the corebook.
A Collector’s Edition of the corebook will be available as well.
V5 was developed, designed, and written by Kenneth Hite, Matthew Dawkins, Mary Lee, Juhanna Petterson, Karim Muammar, and Martin Ericsson, with guidance and inspiration from Vampire's original creator Mark Rein-Hagen.
