Indie game companies Abylight Studios and Locomalito have released their new horizontal shoot-em-up game, Super Hydorah, on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
In Super Hydorah, an evil force launches an invasion over the Omios star. It's up to the player (conveniently, the most skilled and deadly pilot in the galaxy) to face the menace of the bio-mechanical Meroptians in their war of conquest.
The game is comprised of 21 levels divided into 35 sublevels, allowing for 35 bosses and as assortment of more than 100 enemies. Furthermore, each level has a non-linear layout with route selection. There are also in-game secrets, multiple endings, an achievements and rank system, as well as a soundtrack by Gryzor87.
On PS4, Super Hydorah further features a trio of game modes -- Single Player, Local Multiplayer Co-op, and cooperative minigame called Robot Chase -- as well as trophy and cross-buy support. On the Vita, the game is single-player only, though Robot Chase has been adapted for single-player gameplay. Trophies and cross-buy are also supported on Vita.
Before becoming available on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, Super Hydorah previously released for Xbox One and PC (via Steam).
