JRPG-inspired 'Pixel Noir' announced for 2018 release

JRPG-inspired 'Pixel Noir' announced for 2018 release SWDTECH GAMES

BadLand Games and SWDTech Games partner up to release the 16-bit noir-themed RPG Pixel Noir in early 2018.

Pixel Noir incorporates a highly-stylized noir aesthetic and is inspired by Japanese RPG classics such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and EarthBound.  The game puts players in the shoes of a cop-turned-private-eye after a ten-year prison stint.  An investigation at an abandoned hospital went awry and your partner is dead because of it.  Now, the hospital is in ashes and you're behind bars for a crime you didn’t commit.  With your character now out of the slammer, Pixel Noir’s colorful cast of characters accompany you through Pinnacle City’s diverse territories as you search for the truth.

“We've been building Pixel Noir for quite a long time -- six years to be exact," says Kunal Majmudar, owner of SWDTech Games.  "We've gone from old, proof-of-concept builds to UX (User Experience) test builds to the current pre-alpha state."

Pixel Noir is slated to release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and onto Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux.  There are also plans to give the game a physical release, but those details have not yet come to light.
