Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, a board game version of video game Deadly Premonition is officially in the works.
Based directly on the 2007 video game by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro, Deadly Premonition: The Board Game brings players back to the town of Greenvale. The game itself is an adversarial 2-4 player card-based board game where you and your fellow detectives must protect the innocent, incriminate the guilty, and figure out whether or not people are who they say they are. Hidden among the detectives is none other than the murderer him (or her) self and it's a race to identify who among the suspects is an accomplice in order to find the real killer.
“Our vision was to create a compelling, atmospheric game inspired by Deadly Premonition’s delivery of big reveals, plot twists and consequential moments,” said project co-creator Samuel Elphick. “The venture started out as an idea between colleagues. With hopeful optimism we put together a proposal for Swery and he loved it. Way back in June 2015 we created our first prototype for "Incrimination," which was the skeleton that Deadly Premonition: The Board Game is built upon… We hope you enjoy!”
Rising Star Games says they hope to have the game released before the year is out.
