Game developer Studio Wildcards says ARK: Survival Evolved players can now rent their own servers on PlayStation 4 with Xbox One server rentals coming in September.
"These servers offer ARK survivors the opportunity to host private, player-run worlds for themselves and their console friends with up to 100 players per server, setting their own in-depth parameters and custom rules for games on their server," the game studio states via press release.
Servers can be found by visiting ARK's server website and cost between $13-32 depending on how many slots one desires. The servers are ESL certified and the hosting company, Nitrado, says there are seven data centers available world-wide. Furthermore, the ARK servers boast a key feature called “Cross ARK” that is designed to allow players to connect multiple custom private servers together to create a large cluster and jump seamlessly between different servers/worlds.
ARK: Survival Evolved is scheduled to launch worldwide in retail stores and be complete on digital platforms on Aug. 29, 2017, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam). The game is rated "T for Teen" by the ESRB.
