'Monster Hunter: World' coming January 2018 CAPCOM

Coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Jan. 26, 2018, is Monster Hunter: World, the next entry into Capcom's storied Monster Hunter series.

To accompany the announcement, Capcom released a new trailer that shows the wild and wonderful variety of creatures featured in the game.  The game's Coral Highlands stage was also unveiled.  Players have a wide variety of gear to assist them in navigating the fantastical environments in the game such as the Glider mantle.  It's a device that players can use this to extend their air-time after a jump and, as seen in the new trailer, in some areas, players may even be able to catch a lift on a rising wind draft to quickly reach higher ground.

Capcom will be offering a few different editions of Monster Hunter: World as well as a pre-order incentive.  Those who commit early and pre-order the game will receive as a bonus access to special pre-order bonuses such as the Origin Set Armor and the Fair Wind Charm talisman, which offer improved starting defense and offense stat boosts for the hunter as well as a useful gathering skill.  For those that pre-order any digital version from the PS Store, they will also receive instant access to a custom PS4 theme.  There will also be a digital deluxe version ($69.99) that includes a additional customizable options that can be used in-game and a physical Collector’s Edition ($149.99) that includes a 32-page hardcover art book, a flagship monster statue, a digital soundtrack code, and all of the goodies that come with the digital deluxe version.

Rated "T for Teen" by the ESRB, Monster Hunter: World  will come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One globally on Jan. 26, 2018.  Capcom says a PC release will follow at a later date.
