At a Double Fine E3 event today, which included a live reading of Grim Fandango, Double Fine announced that two of their critically-acclaimed adventure games were coming to the Nintendo Switch. First off, the crowdfunding success Broken Age will be coming to the system later this year. This title, which raised millions of dollars on Kickstarter, features two playable characters, Vella Tartine and Shay Volta, both going on their own adventures in a coming-of-age story. The game features orchestral music and voice acting by famed actors such as Jennifer Hale, Elijah Wood, and Jack Black.
Second, the revered Grim Fandango Remastered will be arriving on the Switch later this year as well. The game features film-noir styling with an infusion of Mexican folklore, focusing on travel agent Manny Calavera as he works to unwind a conspiracy revolving around him. The Remastered version recently arrived on Steam, the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita, and the original game is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
More details about these releases will be coming soon. Fans of Grim Fandango can watch a recording of the live event here, which includes a live reading of certain scenes from Grim Fandango, featuring the original cast.
